In the spring, all children entering kindergarten in Newton in the fall are welcome to enroll along with all current kindergarten students - the two groups play at different times. In the fall, all children enrolled in Kindergarten are welcome.  Kindergarten Soccer, which has been introducing children to soccer for over 10 years, is coeducational and focuses on fun while developing confidence as children learn the basics of the game. The teams are small and each session includes drills and a scrimmage. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to try coaching as well. Teams are typically organized by school so be sure to tell us which elementary school your child attends or will attend. For families with students entering kindergarten, this is a great opportunity to meet other parents from your neighborhood school and make friends before your child starts kindergarten.

Kindergarten Soccer meets on Saturday mornings at Richardson Field, located between Beethoven and Allen Avenues (just beyond Zervas School). The program is open to children in Newton. Children must be accompanied by an adult - this is not a drop-off program.

Kindergarten Soccer is run by parent volunteers and we need parents to help as coaches and assistant coaches. No previous knowledge of soccer is required. So if you are interested in signing up your child, consider signing up yourself as well!

Your child will receive a team t-shirt, as well as a medal or trophy at the end of the program. Every child must bring a size 3 soccer ball and wear shin guards each week. You may order this equipment as part of your registration in Kindergarten Soccer. (Financial assistance is available and is confidential).
